HRH PRINCESS AYAH AL FEISAL ATTENDS SPORTING SCHOOL CEREMONY

Under the patronage of HRH Princess Ayah Al Feisal, the Sporting School project, created by the Jordan Olympic Committee in cooperation with GIZ, held a ceremony to mark the end of year one at Tlaa Ali School.
The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Dr. Omar Al Razzaz; European Union Ambassador,Andrea M. Fontana; and Generations For Peace President, Dr. Muhanad Arabyiat.
The Sporting School project aims to increase the number of kids participating in sport, with Volleyball and Athletics used as the sports for Year One but with more set to be introduced as the project gathers momentum.
The project has trained 100 kids in two schools and held a Winter Camp during the vacation.
The children were all subjected to medicals to ensure they were fit and healthy enough to undertake the programme.
Thursday’s ceremony kicked off with kids participating in the two sports as well as other activities that they have been taught over the past year.
They were all honoured by HRH Princess Ayah.
The project also teaches the educational values of sport to the kids in so that sport plays a positive and active role in their development. Project Manager, Sawsan Qadumi, praised the first year results.
“Sporting School has introduced the value of sport into the lives of these young boys and girls who have all developed as individuals through their participation,” she said.
She added that that the project will spread to include new schools from across the Kingdom.
