AL AHLI SECURE FIRST WIN IN AFC ASIAN CUP

Al Ahli clinched their first win in the AFC Asian Cup following their 2-1 Grouo A triumph over Oman’s Sweeq at the Amman International stadium.
But they had to do it the hard way after going a goal down in the 55th minute scored by Yaseen Khalil. But Senegalese star Hajj Malik levelled seven minutes later before Ahmad Al Essawi clinched the win for Al Ahli in he 76th minute.
Al Ahli, who are participating for the first time in the AFC Cup moved third with five points, one point clear of Syria's Al Jaish who lost to Iraq’s Al Zara’ earlier today.
Al Ahli will meet Al Jaish on April 18 at Amman International stadium.
Meanwhile, Al Wehdat drew with Oman’s Saham in their AFC Cup match held at King Qabous stadium.
The hosts scored first in the 29th minute after a mistake by Goalkeeper Amer Safi’, while Baha’ Faisal levelled for Al Wehdat in the 84th minute.
Al Wehdat still top Group C with eight points while Saham are third. Al Wehdat will head to Lebanon in the next round to meet Al Najmeh.
