The national boxing team is on its way to Kazakhstan to take part in the Troyes International Championships, a crucial stepping stone in their bid to send boxers to the Rio 2016 Olympics.
The tournament features boxers from across the world, and provides a timely progress check on Olympic hopefuls including Adel Darweesh (52kg), Mohammad Al Wadi (56kg), Ahmad Darweesh (60kg), Odai Al Hindawi (75kg), Ehab Darweesh (91kg) and Hussein Oshaish (above 91kg).
Following this tournament, the fighters will be competing in the Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Thailand (August 26-September 5) and then the World Boxing Championships in Qatar (October 5-18). Both tournaments offer places to the Rio Olympics next summer.
The delegation for Kazakhstan includes Mohammad Oshaiash, technical manager, and Omar Al Fayoumi, coach.
