OLYMPIC LEGEND TURNS TO COACHING
Jun 28, 2015
Three-time Jordan Olympian Nadin Dawani has joined three other taekwondo stars in becoming qualified coaches in the sport.
Dawani, who competed in the Athens, Beijing and London Olympics and is the Jordan chef de mission for Rio 2016, was joined by Eman Abatha, Majeda Khalil and Nadin Handomeh in passing the practical and theoretical tests for the new coaches' course held last week in Amman.
The exams were organised by the Youth Leaders Centre in cooperation with the Jordan Taekwondo Federation, with the participation of 29 coaches from all centres in the Kingdom.
It fits in with a key Jordan sporting strategy to engage with players reaching the ends of their competitive careers to continue in some capacity so that their expertise is handed down to the next generation.
