A Japanese University is looking to use the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to build closer sporting ties with Jordan.
Associate Professor Zubaidullo Ubaidulloev has held a round of meetings with senior sports figures in Amman to discuss how the University of Tsukuba can work with Jordanian institutions to develop sport.
Prof. Ubaidulloev met with Nasser Majali, Secretary General of the Jordan Olympic Committee, as well as Dr Ibrahim Dabayebeh, Vice Dean of Physical Education at the University of Jordan and senior officials from the Jordan Judo Federation during his time here.
“My university has very strong relationships with America, Europe and East Asia so it is important for us to also develop a relationship in the Middle East,” he said.
“There are a number of areas we would like to look at working together in for the benefit of both sides. The reason I have met with judo on this first trip is because my university is one of the best for the sport. It has been a very fruitful visit and I look forward to coming back.”
