JORDAN AIMING FOR A PLACE IN THE BIG TIME

Jordan’s rugby 7s team is on its way to Doha today hoping to spring a surprise and earn a slot in the big time of Asian Rugby.
Jordan are one 11 teams taking part in the Asia Rugby 7s Trophy this weekend at the Aspire Rugby Pitch in Doha.
It features the top teams considered to be on the second tier of Asian rugby, and the winner this weekend will qualify for the main Asia Rugby 7s Series to be played over three tournaments from September 1 – October 14.
It won’t be easy as Jordan face two tough opening day Group A games against Pakistan and Singapore hoping that two wins will see them competing for honours on Day Two.
The other countries taking part include Iran, Nepal, Bangladesh, Philippines, Thailand, India, UAE, and hosts Qatar.
