Jordan's rising badminton stars are putting in a strong showing at the Uganda Badminton Championships.
Baha’ Al Shannik has beaten Uganda’s Daniel Mihigo (21-13, 21-10), France's Yannick Blondin and Egypt's Adham Hatem (21-8, 2118) to reach the last four where he will meet Uganda’s Edwin Ekiring tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Domo’ Amro qualified to the semifinal of the women's singles after defeating Uganda’s Benda owr (21-4, 21-17), Zambia’s Evelyn Siamupangila (21-10, 21-9) and Egypt’s Hedaya Husni in the quarter final (21-9, 21-14).
She will play Uganda’s Aisha Nakiyemba for a place in the final.
In the doubles, Mohammad Nayf and Baha’ Al Shannik are also in the semifinal of the men’s with Haneen Al Wadyan and Domo’ Amro reaching the same stage in the women's.
In mixed doubles, Domo’ Amro and Baha’ Al Shannik have qualified to the semifinal. The tournament has attracted 115 players from 20 countries.
