PLAYERS ADVANCE IN WEST ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

JORDANIAN players have advanced in the West Asian U13 Tennis Championships, which is being organised in Amman by the Jordan Tennis Federation.
Mohammad Qutub beat Taim Al Athamah from Syria 2-1 and also beat Marco Azar from Lebanon 2-1. Team mate Abduallah Shelbayeh thrashed Daryan Saber from Iraq 6-0, 6-1, to advance but Ziyad Al Qarneh lost to Mohammad Qattan from Kuwait.
In the doubles, Omran Bushnaq partnered with Jamal Muhsin of Kuwait to beat Yousef Ahmad of Kuwait and Ghanem Zeinal of Qatar 6-2, 6-4. In the females’ semi-final, Randa Maqdisi beat Melina Muhran from Iran 6-0, 6-4.
The championship features 37 players from nine countries.
