JOC holds workshops for raising awareness if sports impact
Jan 09, 2025
The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), in collaboration with the Zaha Cultural Centre and the Queen Alia Centre for Social Work, held two awareness workshops in Tafilah on Thursday.
These workshops mark the first of the new year and focus on the impact of community sports, highlighting the significant benefits it brings to society as a whole through health, psychological, and social.
Additionally, participants were introduced to the JOC and the highlighted achievements of Jordanian athletes who have attained Olympic and global successes.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the JOC’s role and the importance of practicing sports and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle to enhance quality of life.
The workshops also promote sports culture and educate communities on the benefits of regular physical activity in improving physical fitness, and raising awareness about non-communicable diseases linked to inactivity and unhealthy lifestyles, as well as the importance of adopting healthy nutritional habits.
Last year, the JOC organised 17 similar workshops across various governorates, engaging 650 participants of both genders.
