Chess Federation elects new board

The General Assembly of the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation has elected its Board of Directors for the upcoming Olympic cycle, which will conclude after the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The election took place on Saturday at the Federation’s headquarters.
The newly elected board includes Dr. Raeda Bani Mustafa and Ms. Ghazal Al-Atoum as appointed members.
Ms. Aseel Abdullah and Ms. Raya Nuaimat were elected under the retired players’ category.
Club representatives on the board are Mr. Zaid Al-Saaida, from Greater Amman Municipality Club; Mr. Sami Al-Mahasneh, from Kafr Khall Club; Mr. Ashraf Atiyeh, from Shabab Ein Karem Club; and Mr. Hassan Abdeen, from the Engineers Club.
Additionally, Mr. Sami Khader Al-Safarini represents the Asia Academy in the centres’ category. Following the election, the Board of Directors held its first meeting to distribute roles. Al-Safarini was chosen as President, with Mr. Zaid Al-Saaida serving as First Vice President and Dr. Raeda Bani Mustafa as Second Vice President. Ms. Aseel Abdullah was appointed Secretary-General, while Mr. Hassan Abdeen was named Treasurer.
