Gold, silver for Jordan at World Karate Championships

Hani Rashid has won a gold medal for Jordan on the penultimate day of the World Karate Championships for Juniors, Youth, and Under-21, in Venice, Italy.
And in another glorious moment for Jordan, Hatem Al-Harasis claimed silver on the dsame day.
Rashid’s gold came in the -55kg youth category after defeating Thailand’s Taulik Tanakorn in the final.
He reached the final with victories over fighters from Turkey, Brazil, France and Kazakhstan in the semi-final before his victory in the final.
Meanwhile, Al-Harasis’ silver came in the junior category for the -57kg weight class after losing the final to Japanese fighter Yagura Kabo, 1-5.
Al-Harasis reached the final with victories over fighters from Hungary, Turkey, Romania, Italy and Spain in the semi-final.
Jordan’s participation in the World Championships will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, with Mohammad Al-Jaafari competing in the U21 final for the -84kg weight class against Egyptian player Omar Othman.
Additionally, Yousef Nofal will fight for the bronze medal in the +84 kg weight class against Spain’s Marquez Borja.
