JOC discusses sports development with Ministry of Youth

Minister of Youth, Engineer Yazan Al-Shdeifat, and Secretary-General of the Jordan Olympic Committee, Rana Al-Saeed, have discussed areas of cooperation and coordination to advance sports development in the Kingdom.
The meeting, held today at the Ministry of Youth, saw Minister Al-Shdeifat express his appreciation for the dedicated attention and efforts of HRH Prince Feisal Al-Hussein, President of the JOC, in advancing the Jordanian sports movement.
The Minister emphasised the importance of formalising cooperation and partnership in the areas of training and infrastructure development for sports facilities overseen by the Ministry of Youth, which would serve sports federations and national teams.
He also highlighted the need to enhance sports training programmes as part of the National Youth Strategy for 2026-2030.
Al-Saeed stressed the importance of coordinating efforts and priorities to develop sports facilities, as well as implementing sports programmes and projects aimed at promoting sports culture and Olympic values among the youth.
She also emphasised the role of fostering a culture of volunteering in sports.
Al-Saeed highlighted programmes like the ‘Sports for All’ programme and the Olympic preparation programme.
She said: “At the Jordan Olympic Committee, we always strive to explore and strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Youth to serve the interests of sports in the Kingdom, benefiting our sports federations and national teams, and helping us continue to achieve success.
“We look forward to working with the Ministry of Youth to improve and upgrade sports facilities, as these are vital in enhancing the presence of Jordanian sports at all levels. Additionally, we aim to establish programs and plans that contribute to the ongoing development of Jordanian sports and expand its reach among youth."
