Tharwat Al-Hajjaj has finished her competition at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Powerlifting empty handed.
Competing in the 86kg weight category, Al-Hajjaj was unable to complete any of her three attempts, which were set at 125kg.
Brazil’s Tiana Medros won gold with a lift of 156kg, followed by China’s Zheng with 155kg, and Chile’s Marion Serrano in third with 134kg.
This was Al-Hajjaj’s fifth Paralympic appearance, having previously won silver at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympics.
Her qualification for the Paris 2024 Paralympics came after she lifted 125kg at the World Cup in Georgia, where she finished fifth.
