One of Jordan’s greatest ever athletes has taken the Paralympic Games by storm after retaining his title and setting another new world record.
Powerlifter Abdelkarim Khattab stormed to the -97kg gold at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, lifting an incredible 270kg which was not only a new Paralympics best, but an astonishing new world record.
It meant that Khattab successfully defended his Paralympic gold, having won the same title at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics, and it takes Jordan’s haul in Paris to three medals, after Omar Qaradeh -49kg powerlifting gold, and Ahmad Hindi’s shot put bronze in the F34 category.
