WORLD GOLD FOR AL NAJJAR

Jordan’s karate star Bashar Al Najjar has underlined his status as the world’s best for his weight by winning gold in the Morroccon World League event.
Al Najjar beat an Italian opponent in the final of the 67kg weight to bolster his world No 1 ranking with the new list being released at the end of the month.
The tournament also held junior and youth sections with Al Najjar inspiring the next generation of Jordanian fighters to four golds and three bronze medals.
There were youth golds for Ali Al Habashneh (61kg) and Asil Al Naimi (59kg – female), and junior golds for Sultan Abu Farha (57kg), Yazan al Weher (63kg). Junior bronze medals were won by Mohammed al Helo (52kg), Fathe Nasser (57kg) and Saleh Sawalhwha (70kg).
