Aug 02, 2024
Ziad Ishaish will be going for a historic first Olympic boxing medal tomorrow (Saturday) when he fights in the quarter finals of the 71kg weight at Paris 2024.
Ishaish will face British boxer Lewis Richardson at the North Paris Arena. A victory will ensure Jordan's first-ever boxing medal at the Olympic Games and qualify Ishaish for the semifinals, which will be held at the renowned Roland Garros Arena in Paris.
Ziad Ashish has attracted attention in his previous bouts, winning against Kazakhstan’s reigning world champion Aslanbek Shymbergenov in the Round of 32.
He continued his impressive performance in the Round of 16, defeating Japanese 2021 world champion Sewon Okazawa.
The fight will take place at 9.30pm Jordan time.
Should he win, he will face the winner of Indian boxer Nishant Dev and Mexican Marco Alvarez on August 6.
