Jordan have continued their progress in the second stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup by beating Pakistan 7-0 at the Amman International Stadium.
Musa Al-Taamari scored a hat-trick with goals in the 15th, 62nd, and 79th minutes, while Yazan Al-Naimat netted in the 26th minute, Saad Al-Rosan in the 52nd, Ali Alwan in the 74th, and Mohammad Abu Zreiq Sharara at the 83rd minute.
The win moves Jordan to seven points in Group Seven, behind leaders Saudi Arabia (10 points) but ahead of Tajikistan (5) and Pakistan who are still without a point.
Next up is Tajikistan on June 6, before concluding the group stage against Saudi Arabia on June 11.
Thirty-six teams are participating in this second stage of qualifiers, distributed into nine groups of four teams each.
The group leaders and runners-up will qualify for the third stage of the World Cup qualifiers and will also directly qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup, totalling 18 teams.
