The Jordan Karate Championship has finished today (Friday), hosted by the Jordan Karate Federation at the Prince Rashid Hall for self-defence sports in Al-Hussein Youth City.
The championship kicked off a busy year of events for the federation that includes four tournaments where players will earn points towards their local ranking, with top-ranked players entering the national teams.
A total of 186 players, representing 23 centres and clubs from various governorates of the Kingdom, participated in youth, U21, men’s and women’s categories, across all weight divisions.
Ibrahim Al-Duqas, the head of the technical committee at the federation, highlighted that the new system aims to increase competition and interaction among national players throughout the year, and to select players in form for the national teams across all age groups.
