Jordan will kick off its participation in the 18th Asian Cup (Qatar 2023) tomorrow, Monday, against Malaysia at Doha’s South Stadium at 8.30pm.
Jordan will be hoping for a positive start with tough Group 5 games to come against South Korea and Bahrain and head coach Al-Hussein Omoetah, said nothing short of three points would do.
This is the fifth time that Jordan has competed at the Asian Cup, following participation in 2004 in China, 2011 in Qatar, 2015 in Australia, and 2019 in the UAE.
They have successfully progressed from the group stage on three of the past four editions, with the best achievement reaching the quarter-finals in 2004 and 2011.
To date Jordan have played 15 Asian Cup finals matches, winning six, drawing six, and losing three.
