Looking after Jordan’s athletes is a priority for the Jordan Olympic Committee which has launched a new programme aimed at developing individuals in finding careers away from sporting competition.
The JOC’s three-day ‘Self-Discovery’ workshop kicked off today (Friday), as part of the +Athlete365 Career programme created by the International Olympic Committee.
The workshop is organised by the Jordan Olympic Academy, the educational arm of the Jordan Olympic Committee with the l;aunch attended by Rana Al-Saeed, JOC Secretary General.
Around 80 athletes from national teams will attend over the three days with the workshop facilitated by Inas Hussein from Egypt, the Development Manager and Safeguarding Lead at the International Rowing Federation, along with three-time Jordanian Taekwondo Olympian, Nadin Dawani.
The +Athlete365 Career workshops are designed to provide guidance to athletes as they embark on their professional careers beyond their sport.
The topics focus on life skills, education, and employment, covering areas such as self-awareness, resume writing, and providing an opportunity to learn from and connect with fellow athletes and Olympians.
The Self-Discovery workshop aims to help athletes grow, increase self-awareness, and open up more job opportunities for them. At the conclusion of the opening session, Al-Saeed distributed participation certificates to the attendees.
