JOC Vice President becomes Honorary Professor at the University of Jordan

The Council of Deans at the University of Jordan, under the leadership of its president, Prof. Dr. Nizir Obeidat, has granted the title of Honorary Professor to Dr. Sari Hamdan, Vice-President of the Jordan Olympic Committee.
Dr. Sari has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in both the Jordanian sports industry as well as the academic sector.
After earning his Ph.D. in Administration and Professional Preparation in Physical Education from the University of Florida, USA, in 1986, he joined the University of Jordan and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 1991, eventually reaching the position of Full Professor in 1998.
During his tenure at the University of Jordan, Dr. Sari held several important administrative positions, including Chair of the Physical Education Department, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, and Deputy Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education.
He has authored numerous publications in the field of curriculum and textbooks related to physical education and health, and served as the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University between 2002 and 2003.
He was then appointed as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth from 2003-2011 and, in 2018, he was reappointed as the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, a position he holds to this day.
Additionally, he has been deputy to HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the JOC, since 2009.
Dr. Sari has played a significant role in sport, holding positions such as the Vice President of the Asian Handball Federation and the President of the Sports Union of Jordanian Universities, among other administrative and sports roles at both local and regional levels.
