Jordan bids to host the 2031 Arab Games
Dec 14, 2023
The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) has submitted a bid to host the 17th Arab Games, scheduled for 2031.
The bid document was presented at the headquarters of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and presented by Dr. Sari Hamdan, JOC Vice President, Rana Al-Saeed, JOC Secretary General, and JOC Board Member, Abdullah Qutishat.
Ms Al-Saeed said that hosting the multi-sport event would be an important part in the ongoing development of sport in Jordan, and that it would be the first time that Jordan would host the event since 1999, then known as The King Hussein Games.
That event played a crucial role in the development of sports facilities that have served Jordan for a generation since.
Al-Saeed emphasised Jordan’s commitment to hosting the Games, which would bring Arab youth together to promote fair competition, and reaffirm Arab unity through sport.
