Jordan set for raid on Manchester Taekwondo medals

Jordan’s Olympic qualification seekers will be looking to impress in Manchester on Saturday on their last chance before the door closes on reaching the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Zaid Mustafa, Zaid Al-Halawani and Saleh Al-Sharabati will launch their campaigns at the final round of the Grand Prix Taekwondo Championship.
The fighters securing top five positions in the rankings will qualify for Paris, and this weekend sees the top 16 from each weight category in action, with the winner receiving 100 points.
Mustafa, currently fourth in the -68kg category, will fight Italy’s Denis Barita, while 11th-ranked Al-Halawani fights China’s Yoshiya Li Yang, (ranked 10th) in the same weight.
Al-Sharabati, ranked 4th in the -80kg weight, meets the winner of the match between Tunisian Firas Klausy (5th) and Uzbekistan’s Shokhrat Suleyev (15th).
