Beshnaq bids to join IOC Athletes Commission

Short distance runner Aliya Beshnaq has been nominated for membership to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes’ Commission.
The election is scheduled to take place next year, coinciding with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The IOC Executive Board has approved a list comprising of 32 athletes, with four to be elected from different sports.
All athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics will have the right to vote, with voting to take place in the Olympic Village during the Games.
Beshnaq competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in the 400m, and also made history as the first Jordanian athlete to qualify for the World Youth Athletics Championships in 2017.
She has achieved numerous accomplishments since joining the national team in 2015, winning gold in the 200m and 400m at the Arab Youth Championships in 2017 and gold in the 200m at the Arab Junior Championships in 2018.
