Jordan has welcomed the Taekwondo teams from Azerbaijan, Japan and the United Arab Emirates to the Olympic Preparation Centre in Amman for a multi-lateral training camp.
This camp is part of preparations for the 5th President’s Cup Taekwondo Championship, which is a G2-level event hosted by the Jordan Taekwondo Federation from November 9-11.
Fares Al-Assaf, the Jordan National Taekwondo Teams Director, emphasised the camp’s importance in providing players from both the senior and youth teams the opportunity to train together before the upcoming Cup.
Al-Assaf added that the interest of other countries in conducting joint training camps with the Jordanian national team reflects the excellent reputation that the sport enjoys at the international level.
“This camp is vital preparation for the President’s Cup as well as the final round of the Grand Prix series,” he said.
“This will be the final push for collecting qualifying points for the 2024 Paris Olympics, so we look forward to benefiting from this camp through intensive training.
“The Olympic Preparation Centre provides an ideal hosting environment for other teams. It provides all the necessities for training camps, which encourages other teams to hold their camps in Jordan.”
