4th Asian Para Games underway

The fourth edition of the Asian Para Games, hosted by Hangzhou, China, have been launched at a glittering opening ceremony at the Hangzhou Olympic Stadium.
More than 3,000 athletes from 44 delegations are participating across 22 sports with the competitions continuing through until October 22.
Paralympic weightlifters, AbdulKarim Khattab and Tharwat Al-Hajjaj, carried the Jordanian flag at the ceremony after the delegation arrived in China last Sunday.
This is Jordan’s fourth appearance at the Games, having previously won 17 medals, including five gold, six silver, and six bronze medals.
At their debut, Jordan won five medals at the 2010 Guangzhou Games, including three gold and two bronze.
In the second edition in Incheon, South Korea, in 2014, Jordan won nine medals - one gold, four silver, and four bronze.
At the last edition in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2018, the Jordanian delegation secured three medals, including one gold and two silver.
