Sep 07, 2023
For the first time, a Jordanian archer will participate in the Asian Games, to be hosted by Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8.
Diana Al-Daoud will compete in the Recurve Olympic bow category, and will be coached by Karim Al-Badiri, and said she feels proud to be a history-maker.
“I feel great happiness and immense pride to be the first Jordanian archer to compete at the Asian Games,” she said.
“This gives us all, as participants in this sport, a significant incentive to continue striving towards our dreams and aspirations in this sport.
“I can’t wait to test myself against some of the best archers in the world and will do my best to make Jordan proud.”
Al-Daoud only took up the sport in 2020, but has made astonishing progress to reach the standard required on the Asian level. She will undergo a training camp in South Korea in preparation.
