JU-JITSU TEAM READY FOR ASIAN GAMES

The national Ju-Jitsu team is gearing up a bid for medals at the 19th Asian Games, which will be hosted by the Chinese city of Hangzhou from September 23-October 8.
Under the guidance of coaches Haider Al-Rashid and Lama Al-Qubbaj, the national team has been stepping up preparations to travel as one of the most fancied squads.
The eight athletes travelling in the squad are: Abdullah Jawish (-62kg), Khalil Al-Arnaout (-62kg), Abdul Karim Al-Rashid (-69kg), Mahmoud Jaber (-77kg), Badr Al-Khzaei (-85kg), Hussein Al-Rashid (-85kg), Yasmin Al-Khatib (-48kg), and Yasmin Al-Alami (-57kg), and Yara Qaqish (-63kg).
Head Coach Al-Qubbaj, said that they have been pleased with the squad’s training and training has focussed on both mental and physical preparation.
Ju-Jitsu will be held on October 5-7 and Al-Qubbaj said: “We look forward to achieving some outstanding results in the Games and highlighting the significant progress made in Jordanian Ju-Jitsu, which has achieved numerous accomplishments in various tournaments and championships in the past.”
Jordan won five medals at the last edition of the Asian Games in Jakarta, including a gold won by Haider Al-Rashid, a silver for player Zaid Jurnduqa, and three bronze medals for Farih Al-Harhasha, Abdul Karim Al-Rashid, and Yara Qaqish.
