HRH PRINCESS AYAH LAUNCHES WEST ASIAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Ayah bint Al Hussein, a Board Member for the Jordan Olympic Committee and President of the Jordan Volleyball Federation, the West Asian Karate Championship got underway at the Petra University Sports Hall and will continue until Saturday evening.
The championship has welcomed over 200 fighters, both male and female, from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq who are competing in the categories of juniors, youth, under 21, and adults.
On the tournament sidelines, Her Royal Highness Princess Ayah honored the national karate players who won medals at the World Youth Championships in 2022 and the Asian Championships in 2023.
The national team managed to secure 25 day one medals, including 10 gold, eight silver, and seven bronze.
GOLD: 1. Lemaar Al-Sbabbah (Kata Juniors). 2. Layal Al-Jarah (Juniors +61 kg). 3. Hatem Al-Harasis (Juniors 52 kg). 4. Saheeb Al-Fayyumi (Juniors 57 kg). 5. Aws Saif (Juniors 63 kg). 6. Walid Qatamish (Juniors 70 kg). 7. Jenna Al-Deiri (Women under 21 -61 kg). 8. Joud Al-Duroub (Women under 21 -68 kg). 9. Alaa Shahin (Men under 21 -66 kg). 10. Zaki Abu Qaoud (Men under 21 +84 kg).
SILVER: 1. Hani Rashid (Juniors 52 kg). 2. Saad Al-Fayyouri (Juniors +70 kg). 3. Farah Al-Sabbagh (Women under 21 -50 kg). 4. Leen Mansour (Women under 21 -61 kg). 5. Noor Allah Naser (Women under 21 -68 kg). 6. Ahmed Abu Hazim (Men under 21 -61 kg). 7. Anas Al-Bashabsheh (Men under 21 -75 kg). 8. Saif Al-Din Bani Fares (Men under 21 -84 kg).
