Jordan have won a superb second round of matches in the prestigious Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group Three held in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo.
The team overcame Malaysia, 2-1, with Mohammed Al-Qtoub beating Shean Didi, 6-4, 6-2, in the first singles match.
Malaysia pulled level when Karim Hatamlah lost to Yeong Won Kang, 1-6, 4-6, but the Jordanian pair teamed up to win the deciding doubles match 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Jordan top Group Three with two victories from two matches after opening their campaign with a victory over Cambodia.
With two wins, the national team tops the standings in Group Three ahead of their final league match against Pacific Oceania tomorrow (Friday).
Group Three is divided into two league with four teams in each. The other group includes Iran, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka.
The winners of each group will directly qualify for the next stage of the Davis Cup qualifiers, while the runners-up will compete against each other, with the winner also qualifying.
