ABU JAJEH AND HINDAWI INTO WORLD BOXING QUARTERS

Jordan boxers Mohammad Abu Jajeh and Odai Al-Hindawi have joined countryman Yousef Ishaish in reaching the quarter finals of the IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Abu Jajeh beat Jone Davule, of Fiji, in the round of 16 for the -60kg competition, his second win of the tournament after beating Talgat Syrymbetov, from Kazakhstan, in his opening bout.
He will next face Bulgaria’s Radoslav Rosenov in the last eight. Teammate Al-Hindawi also reached the quarter-finals of the -86 kg class with a victory over Gaetan Ntambwe from France.
He will next meet Russia’s player Ataev Sharabutdin for a place in the semi-final. The pair join Ishaish in the quarters after he confirmed his place with a last 16 win in the 57kg category. Meanwhile, Zaid Al-Bitar lost his 54kg fight to Russia’s Dmitry Davali.
