ISHAIASH WINS GOLDEN BELT TITLE

Ziad Ishaiash’s stock as one of the world’s best pound-for-pound boxers has risen again with
victory in the Golden Belt series hosted in Marrakesh, Morocco.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympian picked up gold in the -71kg weight, beating the Democratic Republic of Congo fighter, Steve Kolingolka, in the final.
He launched his golden run with a win over Haiti’s Marcel Piggott and then defeated Russia’s Igor Sviridchenkov in the semi-final.
Jordan won five medals at the event in total, with four further nronze medals picked up by Obada Al-Kasbah, Muhammad Abu Jaja, Yousef Ishaish and Zaid Al-Bitar.
