JORDAN SETTLE FOR SECOND AFTER BRILLIANT WEST ASIAN RUN

Jordan’s women have settled for second place in the 10-team inaugural West Asian Championships which have been held in Amman over the past week.
Our ladies went down 3-0 to the very strong Lebanon team in the final match held at the Sports Palace in Al Hussein Youth City, in the presence of HRH Princess Ayah bint Feisal, President of the Jordan Volleyball Federation, HRH Prince Omar bin Feisal, HRH Princess Aisha bint Feisal, HRH Princess Sarah bint Feisal, HE Minister of Youth Mr. Mohammed Salameh Faris Al-Nabulsi, HE Minister of Finance Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al-Issis, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship HE Mr. Ahmed Al-Hanandeh, Mr. Ali Al-Kuwari, President of the West Asian Volleyball Federation; HE Dr. Sari Hamdan, Chairman of the Organising Committee, and Presidents from the West Asian nations’ federations.
The loss in the final was Jordan’s only defeat, leaving champions Lebanon as the only undefeated side. Final rankings: 1- Lebanon, 2- Jordan, 3- United Arab Emirate, 4- Iraq, 5- Kuwait, 6- Syria, 7- Saudi Arabia, 8- Qatar, 9- Oman, 10- Palestine
