LADIES SET FOR WEST ASIAN VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The women's national volleyball team will today take on Oman in the opening match of the first West Asian Championships, hosted at the Sports Palace in Al Hussein Youth City.
Ten teams will participate, divided into two groups with Group A featuring Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Syria, while Groupo B includes UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Jordan.
The national team, led by Argentine coach Matias and his assistant Ziad Habash, is looking to make a strong start in front of their home fans.
The teams play each other in a single-stage league system, with the top four qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Jordan’s squad includes: Rahaf Haimour, Rand Haimour, Raghad Haimour, Farah Al-Atout, Dalia Wadi, Zina Al-Taher Rahaf Abu Al-Lail, Ayh Shank, Tala Fahmawi, Maya Al-Taji, Sarah Makahleh and Tamara Hazem.
Today’s schedule: Iraq Vs Saudi Arabia (12pm) - Lebanon Vs Palestine (2pm) - UAE Vs Qatar (4pm) - Jordan Vs Oman (6pm).
