DOUBLE ASIAN GOLD AS BOXERS BAG SIX MEDALS

Jordan have won two gold medals, and an incredible six medals in total, at the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships that have been held in Amman over the past fortnight.
Olympian Hussein Ishaish and rising star Muhammad Abu Jaja clinched the golds following some exhilarating performances at Rashid Al-Zayoud Hall in Al Hussein Youth City.
Abu Jaja was also named fighter of the tournament as Jordan put on its best showing in the 60-year history of the event.
His gold came in the -60kg category after beating Mongolia’s Bindulay to the delight of the home fans, while Olympian Ishaish secured gold with victory over Aslunov Odeljon from Uzbekistan in the -80kg competition.
Udai Al-Hindawi settled for silver after losing the final of the -86kg weight to Thailand’s Jakapong, while Ziad Ishaish’s silver came following defeat to Kazakhstan's Aslan Bey in the -71kg contest.
There were bronze medals for Ahmed Al-Taimat and Lina Jaber to complete Jordan’s impressive haul.
