Jordan is celebrating a new slice of history after Ahmed Abu Al-Soud won a brilliant silver medal at the 51st World Gymnastics Championships held in Liverpool, England.
Abu Al Soud has risen to the top in Asia, but this was his first medal on the global stage with his silver on the Pommel Horse discipline becoming the first medal secured at the highest level by a Jordanian gymnast.
The two-time Asian champion impressed the judges with 14,866 points, finishing behind Ireland’s Reese McClingan who won the gold medal after scoring 15,300 points.
