WORLD KARATE GOLD FOR HAMMAD

A new global Karate star is emerging from Jordan after Abdullah Hammad won gold in the U21 category at the WK World Championship for Juniors, Youth, and U21s, in the Turkish city of Konya.
Hammad clinched the U67kg title with a win in the final over Moroccan fighter, Said.
He charged into the final with victories over Latvia’s Jadok Leon, Kyrgyzstan’s Nurlanbek, Tunisia’s Mohamed Ayat, Spain’s Ivan Gomes and Egypt’s Ahmed Lotfy.
It turned out to be magnificent tournament for Jordan who finished with seven medals.
Three silver medals were won by Walid Qatamesh (-70kg - juniors), Seif El-Din Bani Faris (-76kg - youth) and Youssef Nofal (-76kg - youth).
Three further bronze medals were earned by Waseem Salama (-55kg – youth), Hasan Maasarwe (-75kg) and Muhammad Al-Jaafari (-84kg).
