AL SOUD SET FOR WORLD GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Ahmed Abu Al-Soud will launch his campaign for gold on Monday at the 51st World Gymnastics Championships, hosted in the English city of Liverpool.
More than 400 gymnasts representing 74 countries are taking part and Al Soud has spent the past couple of days getting used to the venue and the surroundings.
He will be competing in the Pommel Horse competition, and will aim to be one of eight that qualify through to the Saturday’s final.
The two-time Asian champion is being coached by Armenian Gurgen Serikanian and will be seeking to make an impression on the world stage after impressing this summer with gold at the Islamic Solidarity Games, held in the Turkish city of Konya.
