Jordan will be hoping to build on its two medals won at the last edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games when they send a strong delegation to the next version being hosted by Konya, Turkey, from August 9-18.
Coach, Mohamed Ibrahim, and his assistant, Ahmed Ibrahim, will be in charge of seven fighters - Rahaf Ali (-61kg), Huda Jabr (-68kg), Abdullah Hammad (-60kg), Abdul Rahman Al-Masatfa (-67kg), Hassan Masarweh (-75kg), Muhammad Al-Jaafari (-84kg), and Ibrahim Shamoun (-84kg).
In preparation for the Games, the team is spending time at a training camp in Egypt, hoping to arrive in Algeria in top shape with the coach confident they can continue to build Jordan’s Karate reputation on the international stage, following Al-Masatfa’s brilliant bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
“We travel in confidence, seeking to build on the achievements in recent years,” said the coach.
Jordan have sent fighters to the past three Games, with the two medals won last time out in Baku, Azerbaijan, when Bashar al-Najjar won gold and Hala Turaish claimed a bronze medal.
