JORDAN PULL JU-JITSU FIGHTER OUT OF WORLD GAMES
Jul 16, 2022
Jordan have pulled Ju-Jitsu medal hopeful Bader Al-Khuzai out of the World Games being held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, in protest at the controversial overturning of his semi-final victory over UAE’s Faisal Al-Ketbi.
Al-Khuzai won their -85kg semi-final bout 2-0, but following a protest by the Emirati’s team, the result was reversed by the referees who handed victory to Al-Ketbi.
The decision stunned the Jordanian delegation who pulled Al-Khuzai out of the scheduled bronze medal match in protest, and will be sending an official report to the World Games Organising Committee and the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation in the coming days, which will reaffirm Jordan’s respect for the laws and regulations in force at the tournament.
