WORLD CUP BLOW TO BASKETBALLERS
Jul 01, 2022
Jordan has suffered a blow to qualifying for the FIBA World Cup after losing 89-70 to Lebanon at the Nohad Nofal Complex in Lebanon.
The match started well with a first quarter advantage of 21-16, but Lebanon blasted back with a superb second quarter to open a big advantage, and despite gaining more points in the third quarter, the margin was too big to close as Jordan fell to third in Group C as a result.
After three wins but two defeats, Jordan sit behind leaders Lebanon and second-placed Saudi Arabia, with Indonesia in fourth following five straight defeats.
