TAEKWONDO SILVER SECURED AT GRAND PRIX

Jordan have finished their record participation at the first round of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Rome, Italy, with a brilliant silver medal for Juliana Al-Sadiq.
The 67kg fighter claimed Jordan’s seventh medal in the history of the Grand Prix series with four wins before losing in the final, and it was her third medal following a pair of bronze medals previously won in Moscow 2018 and Sofia 2019.
The national team sent a record number of seven participants to Rome, showing the tremendous progress being made this year by a number of Jordanian fighters.
Mahmoud Al-Tarareh (-58kg), Zaid Al Halawani, Zaid Mustafa (both-68kg), Fahd Ammar, Saleh Al Sharbati (both -80kg) and Rama Abu Al Rub (-67kg) joined Al-Sadiq in Italy.
Five of the fighters were representing Jordan at a Grand Prix for the first time.
This year's Grand Prix series consists of four rounds with the tour moving on to France in September, followed by Manchester, England, and Wuxi, China in December.
