SIX MEDITERRANEAN MEDALS FOR FENCERS

Host nation, Jordan, gave a great account of themselves, winning six medals at the Mediterranean Fencing Championships organised by the Jordan Fencing Federation in the Arena Hall at Al-Ahliyya Amman University.
Baraa Al-Ashkar won silver in the U15 Sabre weapon, while Tania Awad won bronze in the Epee for the same age group.
In the U18 group, Jana Abdeen won bronze medal in the Epee, while Limar Al-Zumar won bronze in the Sabre weapon, while the youth team, consisting of players Iyad Odeh, Qusai Haboub, Abdullah Al-Tahla and Osama Al-Balawi, won bronze in team’s category.
Abdullah Al-Talha took silver in the Saber for the U20 category to complete a haul of two silvers and 4 bronze medals.
The event welcomed over 200 fencers from 13 countries, including Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, Greece and Algeria Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Oman and Yemen, in addition to Jordan.
