JORDAN’S BOXERS CONTINUE TO SHINE

Jordan’s young boxers Aya Swainda, Noha Al-Zoubi and Faris Helmy have collected silver medals on the penultimate day of competition at the Asian Youth Boxing Championship being held in Rashid Al-Zayoud Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City, Amman.
Swainda settled for silver in the women's -57kg competition, after losing her final to an Indian fighter, despite a brilliant semi-final win over Kazakhstan’s Anar Salimbai.
Al-Zoubi’s silver came in the -66kg competition, defeating Uzbekistan’s Frida Zazipova in the semi-finals before losing the final to Kazakhstan's Aruzan Zangabaeva.
Helmy reached the -70kg final after wins over Kyrgyzstan’s Toktonazarov Abate in the quarter-final and India’s Jackson in the semi-final. His silver was confirmed following defeat to Uzbekistan’s Shakabezov in the final.
