MORE JORDAN MEDALS AT ASIAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Jordan’s U21 Karate team has won two medals at the Asian Senior & Cadet, Junior and U21 Karate Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Omar Shakra won silver in the -55kg category, while Abdullah Hammad took bronze in the -60kg weight.
Shakra’s silver came after reaching the final with wins over Iraq’s Ali Baris and Uzbekistan’s Islambek, before losing to the Kazakh, Bigabel Zulaman, in the gold medal match.
Hammad beat Kyrgyzstan’s Alisher in his quarter-final, before losing to Thailand’s Siwakon. Hammad moved to the bronze medal match, which he won after defeating Saudi Arabia’s Youssef Nayeh.
On Tuesday, Jordan’s participation in the Asian Championship will continue with the seniors’ team featuring Zaki Abu Qaoud (84kg), Jawd Al-Darros (- 61kg), Abdul Rahman Al-Masatafa (-67kg), Huda Jabr (-68kg) Mahmoud Sajan (-84kg) and Omar Shakra (-55kg).
