CROWN PRINCE ATTENDS CAMEL RACES

His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, attended as patron the closing ceremony of the Jordan Festival for Camel Racing, which was held at the Sheikh Zayed Camel Racecourse in the Disa region, south Jordan.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Omar bin Feisal, watched the final two races, and honoured the 21 camel owners who won the races.
During the ceremony, which was attended by honorary international guests, His Royal Highness watched a visual presentation explaining the activities of the first day of the festival, and recounted the history of camel sport, which is one of the traditional Arab sports.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also awarded the first three places in the Nabati poetry competition, which was held on the sidelines of the festival in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.
Jordan Camel Sports Committee president, Jamal Al-Bdour, said that the two-day festival was held to coincide with the Kingdom's centenary celebrations.
The ceremony was also attended by a number of senior civil and military officials.
