TWO WORLD GOLDS, TWO BRONZE FOR POWERLIFTERS

Jordan’s powerlifters have once again proved to be among the best in the world with two gold medals and two bronzes won at the World Powerlifting Championships held in Tbilisi, Georgia, recording a new world record along the way.
Abdul Karim Khattab won the -88kg gold, and his teammate Omar Qaradeh also took gold in the -49kg weight. Veteran Moataz Al-Junaidi won bronze in the -76kg competition, while Mohammad in Shamti was third in the -49kg Juniors.
Khattab, the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic champion, not only won the gold medal, but also succeeded in breaking his own world record with a remarkable lift of 250kg.
Russian, Jamalov Magomed, came second with a lift of 212kg, while Yi Jie Chan, from China, finished third with a 211kg lift.
Sadly, Olympic champion Jameel Al Shebli was unable to compete due to injury.
