TRIPLE JORDANIAN TAEKWONDO GOLD IN BOSNIA

Jordan have won three gold medals at the G1 Bosnia and Herzegovina Open Taekwondo Championship.
Olympic silver medallist Saleh Al-Sharabati claimed the -80kg title while Zaid Mustafa (-68 kg) and and Juliana Al-Sadiq (-67 kg) joined him on the top step of their podiums.
A further silver medal was won by Mahmoud Al-Tarayrah in the -58kg weight to make it a superb event for Team Jordan.
Al-Sharabati launched his successful campaign by dominating the Macedonian fighter, Philip Staminov, and then beating Croatia’s Nicola Vuckovic, 21-7, in the semi-final.
In the final, the Tokyo 2020 silver medalist beat Spain's Jon Quintado 4-3.
Teammate, Mustafa, won his quarter-final match against Bosnia’s Sadmir Habibovic, 20-10, and then beat Croatia's Leon Glasnovic, 37-12, in the semi-final.
In his final, Mustafa defeated Hungarian player, Joza Leventi, 16-15, to win Jordan’s second gold.
Meanwhile, Al-Sadiq opened her competition by defeating the Czech player, Evita Jerankova, 21-2, in the quarter-finals and then defeated the German Vanessa Korndl, 21-13.
In the final, Al-Sadiq beat Spain’s Bergos Castro with the golden point after a 5-5 tie to take the title.
Al-Tarayrah beat the Macedonian player, Marko Avramovsky, 26-0, and then beat the Mexican, Brandon Plaza - silver medallist at the last world championship - 27-7 in the quarter-finals. He beat Mexico’s Cesar Alvarez, 18-12, in the last four before being defeated by Ireland’s Jack Woolley, 6-5, in the final.
Meanwhile, Zaid Al-Halawani (-63kg), Fahd Al-Subaihi (-87kg) and Nataly Al-Hamidi (-62kg) all lost at the quarter-final stage after winning their first fights.
