Amman Club has won the Asian Women’s Club Championship, hosted by the Jordan Football Association as a pilot event this week.
The ladies beat Iran’s Shahdari Sarjan, 2-1, in the final match held at the Aqaba Development Company stadium.
As well as the finalists, the tournament welcomed Uzbekistan’s Bunyodkor and Gokulam Kerala, of India, with Amman having the host slot courtesy of winning the Jordanian Women’s League.
Jordan was selected to host this first event by the AFC after successfully staging previous major tournaments including the 2018 Asian Women’s Cup and the 2016 U-17 Women’s World Cup.
