Jordan’s brilliant boxers are hoping to make another impression on the world standings when they compete in the AIBA World Boxing Championships over the next fortnight in Belgrade, Serbia.
A record 650 boxers from 105 countries will be competing across 13 weight categories with Tokyo 2020 Olympians Obada Al Kasbah (-67kg), Ziad Ishaish (-71 kg), Uday Al Hindawi (-86kg) and Hussein Ishaish (-92kg) all hoping to make their mark for Jordan.

Meanwhile, Ziad Ishaish will meet Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Ronel Iglesias, of Cuba, in his opening round on Wednesday, the same day that Al Hindawi fights Kenyan, Sabat.
Hussein Ishaish will box on Friday against Slovak fighter, David Mishak.
For the first time, the tournament will have prize money available, with a total of $2.6 million up for grabs. Gold medallists will win $100,000, with runners-up pocketing $50,000 bronze medal boxers will win $25,000.
AIBA will award the winners with beautifully designed medals and belts to commemorate their accomplishments. Medals will be made of solid gold and silver respectively.
The official gloves of the championships will change colour – white with coloured AIBA logos will replace red and blue - this is to symbolise a fresh start for the sport as well as fairness and transparency of their major events.
